Central Square (“Gefyra”)
The square is dominated by the “hallmark” and point of reference of the inhabitants and the visitors, the multi-sung “Platanos” (plane tree) of Filoti.
Around the plane tree there are two “kafeneia” (cafeterias), while in the square there are four more “kafeneia” –two of which serve food as well—, two taverns and one pastry shop.

In the coolness of the shade of the plane tree leaves, all the minor and major issues –local as well as more general, of the Country as a whole—have been discussed.
It has attracted politicians, artists, athletes and plain people from all over the country and the world.
On the Square and around it, there are cafeterias, restaurants, taverns, pastry shops, bakeries, a small grocery store, a tourists items shop, a kiosk, a pharmacy, a barber shop and a hair salon.
Walking up the paved street that starts on the left corner of the square, one sees the traditional “kafeneio” of “Immellos” (actor from Filoti), well preserved houses, the old school and , finally, the parish church of the village, “Holy Mary of Filoti”.
